10. What makes Tidal Tours different from other boat tour businesses in Beaufort?
1. How many people can go on your tours?
Tidal Tours can carry up to four passengers with some flexibility. The limit is a weight limit for the boat. For example, we have had up to five adult passengers on board before. We also commonly take four adults and two children. Our fees are based on a flat-boat rate for all four passengers. Please inquire with Captain Scott if you have any questions.
2. Where do we meet the captain for our tour?
Each tour leaves from a different location. Captain Scott trailers the boat depending on which tour the client chooses. Please see our tours page to find a link to different Google Maps for each tour. Captain Scott will also communicate and confirm this information after booking.
3. How can I pay the captain?
Cash is the preferred payment method. However, Captain Scott gladly accepts Venmo or Zelle.
4. Do you need a deposit to book? When do I pay the captain?
No, reservations are take upon client’s request. They are confirmed after direct communication with Captain Scott. No deposit or money is necessary. This saves the hassle of refunds if there is a weather issue the day of the tour.
5. What happens if the weather is bad when my tour is scheduled?
Captain Scott makes every effort to track the weather and communicate with each client 24 hours before their tour. Sometimes, decisions have to be made the day of the tour or even an hour before the tour. If the decision is made to cancel, the captain makes every effort to reschedule. Since no deposit is necessary to make a booking, no refund is necessary.
6. What should I bring on the tour?
Depending on the time of the year, layers are always good. Closed-toe boat shoes are best, but even Captain Scott wears flip-flops. Towels can be brought. Clients are welcome to bring their own drinks, snacks, and/or cooler. Tidal Tours does provide bottled water and ice.
7. Can I bring my own cooler or snacks?
Yes!
8. Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Tidal Tours prides itself on being dog-friendly.
9. Can I tip the captain?
Gratuity is a large part of the tour business, the boat tour business, and the charter boat business. Tipping is strongly encouraged if you had a positive experience.
10. What makes Tidal Tours different from other boat tour businesses in Beaufort?
The answer to this question lies in two words: storytelling and adventure. Both of these come from experience. Stories come from living them. Adventure comes from living it and doing it safely. Captain Scott has lived here for thirty years and in that time, he has developed a deep love for Beaufort. That is his joy to share with you. That is the difference.
